What US Bank Account Openings Actually Look Like

Last updated 26 July 2026
The stone facade of a United States national bank

The first honest fact about the record: these accounts were opened in person. The client messages published on the Hall of Wins describe branch appointments, almost all of them in Miami, arranged in advance and walked in with the right documents.

Done that way, the record is fast. Several personal and business accounts within three days. Six accounts across Chase, Bank of America and Citibank in one week.

An account, a debit card and a credit card out of a single Chase appointment. Below is what that looks like with the details left in. No client is named, and nothing here is a promise about your visit.

The shape of the week

Days, not months, once you are in the branch

The pattern that repeats across the record is a short trip with the appointments already set.

One client's summary, written the week it happened: several personal and business accounts opened within three days, following the guide steps, plus a Bank of America travel rewards card on top.

Three days in Miami: several personal and business accounts, and the card on top.

Another client posted the feedback unprompted in the community, and his words carry the part that matters: appointments were last minute and still landed, and the whole setup finished before the trip did.

His description of the Chase opening was that it was the smoothest he had ever done.

Unprompted community post: banking setup completed in Miami in a few days, last-minute appointments arranged, the client calling the Chase opening the smoothest bank opening process he has ever done
Unprompted community feedback: finished before the trip was over, appointments handled, business moving to US banking as primary.

The visit works because the preparation happened. The call is where the preparation starts.

What one trip actually collects

The single most useful screenshot in the lane is a client's own recap, written on the way to the airport.

Four banks in one trip: Bank of America personal and business open with a secured travel card approved at 3,000 dollars, Chase personal and business open with the entry card under review, Capital One personal open with the Quicksilver approved, and Amerant personal open with the physical debit card already in hand.

The airport recap: four banks, personal and business, cards approved, one application still under review — published as it stood.

The widest single haul in the record is six accounts, personal and business, across Chase, Bank of America and Citibank, in one week. The client offered the message as a testimonial himself.

One appointment

Account, debit card, credit card, same chair

A well-prepared appointment compresses the whole stack. One client's message from a Monday in Miami: everything okay with Chase, account, debit card and credit card all done, and he was already in the car to the second bank of the day.

Client message: Chase account, debit card and credit card all confirmed in one appointment, with the client heading to the second bank appointment of the same day
One Chase appointment: account, debit card, credit card, and a second bank booked the same day.

The same client's evening messages show the rest of the visit: a Bank of America account opened with his Greek residence recorded openly on file, then straight on to Citibank for the next one. A non-resident opening done as a non-resident, nothing disguised.

The part people misread

The deposit is collateral, not a fee

The number that scares people in this lane is the secured-card deposit. The record contains the team explaining it to a client in plain words: the 5,000 dollars deposited for a secured credit card at Bank of America acts as collateral for the credit limit, and the funds come back into reach when the card upgrades to unsecured, usually after a few months of good credit behaviour.

The collateral mechanics, explained in the client channel: the deposit sets the limit, and upgrading releases it.

That deposit is also the bridge into the credit file: a secured limit reported on time is what the US credit path is built on.

Which banks, which order, which documents: that is a plan, and the call builds it.

The honest part

What these screenshots do not show

The record is real and it is also a filtered view. Here is the frame around it.

Everything above happened in a branch, by appointment, with an ITIN and company paperwork prepared beforehand. Nothing in the published record shows a US bank account opened from a laptop abroad, and this page will not pretend otherwise.

Fintech accounts, Mercury and Wise among them, do appear in the record and are a different instrument from a chartered bank.

Not every application says yes on the spot. The airport recap above was published with one card application still under review, and that is the honest texture of a real visit.

The engagement is advisory: the appointments, the preparation and the walk-in order are arranged, the bank's decision stays the bank's.

What to bring and why is set out in the ITIN and US bank account guide, and First Class Citizen describe the mentorship that organises the Miami visit here.

FAQ

How fast do US bank accounts open for a non-resident?
In the published First Class Citizen record, clients opened several personal and business accounts within three days of arriving in Miami, and one client opened six accounts across Chase, Bank of America and Citibank in one week. The speed comes from arranged appointments and prepared paperwork, not from any shortcut at the bank.
Which banks appear in the record?
Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, Capital One and Amerant all appear in published client messages, for personal and business accounts. Fintech accounts such as Mercury and Wise also appear and are a separate category from chartered banks.
Can the accounts be opened remotely?
The published record shows in-person openings by branch appointment, almost all in Miami. The preparation, the ITIN and the company documents happen before travel; the account itself is opened in the chair.
Why is there a 5,000 dollar deposit?
That deposit, shown being explained in the record, is collateral for a secured credit card limit rather than a fee. It sets the starting limit and comes back into reach when the card upgrades to unsecured after months of on-time behaviour.
Are these results guaranteed?
No. Every outcome here is an individual result published on the First Class Citizen Hall of Wins, and the record itself includes an application still under review. Banks make their own decisions on the day.
